Discovering Charlevoix's coastal scenery

From the beach at Saint-Irénée, a one-way trip across La Malbaie to Cap-à-l'Aigle. Navigate this dynamic stretch of the St. Lawrence Upper Estuary, encountering waterfowl and marine life. Discover this panoramic section of the Charlevoix coast, the barachois, Pointe le Heu and Cap à la Baleine.

This is a 16-kilometre one-way guided tour. The tour pauses in the Pointe-au-Pic area before ending at the Cap-à-l'Aigle wharf. At the end of the tour, a shuttle will take you back to Saint-Irénée.

Our guides' experience, knowledge of the area, respect for weather conditions, low supervision ratios, appropriate itineraries, quality equipment and comfortable isothermal clothing all help us to provide safe supervision for our excursion groups of all ages, levels and origins.

Opening period

From May 24th to September 13th, 2025., according to the tidal cycle.

Participants must arrive 30 minutes early to get prepared.

From Saint-Irénée beach to Quai de Cap-à-l'Aigle

Saint-Irénée beach for welcome, and return by shuttle from Cap-à-l'Aigle.

Approximately 16km, with several nice beaches to stop for breaks

Difficulty level

Moderate course, easy launch from the Saint-Irénée beach, accessible to beginners able to engage in a daytime activity, as well as to already initiated paddlers.

Cancellation policy

  • Up to 7 days before the activity : 10% of the total amount will be non-refundable, without change fees during the same season.
  • From 7 days to 48 hours before the activity : 50% of the total amount will be non-refundable, without change fees during the same season.
  • From 48 hours to the day of the activity : 100% of the total amount will be non-refundable, change with a $20 fee during the same season.
  • The day of the activity : 100% of the total amount will be non-refundable, without possibility of modification.

If Katabatik cancels the activity

  • If Katabatik cancels for any reason: a postponement will be proposed.
  • If the postponement is not possible, 90% of the total amount will be refunded.
  • Rain, thunderstorms, and frost are not grounds for cancellation.
