The environment you will be visiting

This game area of the Laurentian massif, frequented before the end of the 19th century by the Montagnais hunters, became in 1890 the famous private club of hunting and fishing: the Club La Roche, under the direction of Sir William Hume Blake.

In 1895, the national park of the Laurentians was created by inserting the territory of the club. It was in 1981 that the Government of Quebec established its first network of conservation parks and that the Grands-Jardins de Charlevoix were granted this status. In 1988, UNESCO enshrined the Grands-Jardins National Park in the heart of the Charlevoix World Biosphere Reserve.

Be well prepared

Bring sufficient outdoor clothes to stay warm, as well as extra clothes for after the activity. A down coat or extra layer of clothing for the break while on the trail is advisable. There are changing rooms both at the start and finish, but no heated refuge along the way.

Also bring enough water for the day and an energy snack. Participants are encouraged to eat a good breakfast before the activity because we will be outside from 10 am to 2:30 pm.
